As many of you know I lost my wallet on Monday morning, but what many of you don't know is how invaluable that wallet was to me. Mark bought that for me when we were in Europe as an anniversary gift so to me it was priceless.
My wallet was not only found by a good Samaritan but it was returned intact. It easily contained $1000.00 in items between the wallet , gift cards and cash. I am so humbled by such an amazing act of kindness by a complete stranger.
To Kong, you are truly an angel, you will never know the significance of the good gesture you did. I'm sure you didn't think twice about it because thats just the type of person you are. There are times I won't turn on the tv or log into Facebook because after awhile all that negativity starts to weigh on me. Thanks to you I not only had the best ending to my story but you restored my faith in humanity.
To Barbara, the sweet lady (manager at me-en-eds) that locked my wallet in the safe at work and called her boss to go through my wallet to try and find me, bless your hearts. You will never understand what a selfless act this was and how much it has impacted my husband and I . We are so inspired by this we want to start paying it forward more.
For those of you reading this, let me remind you how rare it is to come across people like these, in fact they are a dying breed. They spent a week trying to find me because I hadn't updated my address on my license so they ended up driving to my old place the day I lost it. When they couldn't get ahold of me they locked it up in a safe at work. Barbara then contacted her boss and they ended up taking my ATM to my bank so they could notify me.
I am truly humbled by this experience! If you ever visit the Me-en-eds on Herndon and Cedar please show some love to Kong Thao and the manager Barbara Garcia they are truly angels!
